In March of 2012, three people began to make one of their dreams a reality. Best friends Andy and Dan, along with Dan's mom Nancy, have always dreamed of doing what so many people long to do: pick up and drive across the country. So after many years, and a few failed attempts, plans once again began to develop for an ultimate road trip. A month long journey from coast to coast through the heartland of this great nation. But only this time, we vowed to actually make it happen. Using the amazing resource RoadTripUSA, we mapped out a 31-day journey that would take us from New York City, up the rolling slopes of the Appalachian Mountains, through the vast cornfields of the breadbasket, a stop in the deserts of the southwest, up the breathtaking California coast, over the rugged Rockies, back through the great plains, a short skim alongside the Great Lakes, and back to to our home in the Northeast.
