Sorry we're a bit behind on the blog posts...it's been a crazy few days of long travel and we haven't had access to internet in a while. So we're just doing a quick update from the phones.
Since we've last chatted, we've stayed in Clinton, OK, Tucumcari, NM, a gorgeous man-made cave somewhere about an hour north of Sante Fe (yes, you heard that right...), and now we're in Holbrook, AZ in a concrete teepee!!
We've done some amazing shopping at local Indian and Cowboy outlets, and made a few more upscale stops at a Saks Fifth Ave and lovely boutiques in Sante Fe. We're really finding some amazing and unique pieces out here!
We stopped in Oklahoma City and saw the memorial where the bombing took place, saw a giant 150-foot cross, and Nancy even got to see some real-life buffalo! (Her favorite part so far).
We hiked and drove through the 2nd largest canyon in the US...Palo Duro canyon in Texas, took some fun pics at Cadillac Ranch, a unique art exhibit in Texas where a dozen Cadillacs literally stick out of the ground.
So now we're all settled in for the night in Holbrook, AZ in our (surprisingly comfy but totally kitsch) concrete teepee for a great night of rest because tomorrow is the GRAND CANYON!
Sounds like an amazing journey! I'm so happy that you are all able to do this! Have fun at the Grand Canyon and please post pics when you can! XOXO Mom (mary)
